We are lucky to have such a highly-skilled, experienced and friendly staff team at Princecroft. Staff work in conjunction with a group of volunteer governors with representatives from parents, staff, the local community and the Local Authority.

Nursery Teacher
Mrs Harley teaches for 4 days in our nursery and has spent the last 8 years working across Key Stage 1 at Princecroft. Mrs Harley is one of our more experienced teachers and she leads Sounds~Write and Talk4Writing through the school. She has successfully led on art, writing most of the curriculum and gaining Artsmark gold. She has had extensive input into curriculum design as a whole and has delivered training for other teachers in Sounds~Write and reading. She is studying to become a Sounds~Write trainer. Mrs Harley has a BA (Hons) in Education Studies and Art, a PGCE Primary Years 5-11 and a Master of Arts in Educational Practice.

Nursery Teaching Assistant
Miss Penney is a teaching assistant in The Hive Nursery with our youngest children. Her role involves taking care of the children in all aspects of their day, providing rich learning opportunities, and observing them in their play. She identifies children’s next steps in order for them to reach the next stage in their development. Miss Penney has worked in another school before Princecroft for 22 years and has worked across Early Years and Key Stage 1. Miss Penney is qualified to Level 3 and has a BTEC in Childhood Studies.

Nursery Room Leader
Miss Whatley the Room Leader in Bumbletots, where she works with children aged 2–3. She has been part of Bumbletots since it first opened and have also worked within The Hive. Alongside Mrs Harley, she helps to plan and deliver engaging learning experiences and high-quality provision in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
Miss Whatley has worked in nursery settings for the past five years and is passionate about supporting young children’s early development and helping them to thrive through play and exploration. She has completed a range of professional development opportunities, including Early Excellence courses to enhance our nursery environment, as well as Makaton and speech and language training to support communication and inclusion.
She holds a BA (Hons) in Early Childhood Studies and a Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification from the University of Plymouth.
